The „Raspiaudio Muse Proto Board“ is a really cute and versatile ESP32-Board: it has its own Speaker! Here ist a little manual to create your own Bluetooth-Speaker in some minutes. Bonus: give your device your own name.
Requirements: Computer with Google Chrome and a USB-to-Micro-USB-Connection to the board.
First visit https://raspiaudio.github.io, only this Website is necessary to install the SqueezeLite-System with all the Bluetooth- and Wifi-Connectivities.
Second: connect the Board. The blue LED indicates the Standby-Status, the white LED indicates the DevMode over Serial USB. After this select the board and hit „Connect“.
The Connection-Name is „USB-to-UART“, verify the Installation and hit „Install“.
Update: sometimes you have to deal with different Serial Drivers, try all of them!
After the Installation the Board should be visible over the Wifi-Menue with the name „squeezelite-xxxxx“ and the Wifi-password is „squeezelite“, the Control-Panel for the Board should be appear automatically.
Time for a first Test: connect the board via Bluetooth to your Phone, the Now-Bluetooth-Device has the name „ESP32-BT-XXXXX“, Pairing is not required, only hit „Pair“.
Now:
Bonus-Part: your Name on your Device. We need the Squeezelite-Control-Panel, here you can integrate your device into your Wifi-Network, but this is not required.
The Name-Device-Settings are located in „System“, scroll to the bottom.
Now can you can choose your own name, Emojis are possible. Hit „Save“, „Apply“ and „Reboot“.
Time to „Reconnect“ and test, Attention: only one Connection at a time is possible, when your Bluetooth-Speaker is paired with one device its not visible to other devices.
